Where do the facts come from?
Every brand-specific claim and every number on this site comes from the manufacturer: the product manual, the installation guide or the official support site. Each page lists its sources at the bottom with the date we consulted them.
When we cannot find a manufacturer source for a figure, we say so on the page rather than estimate it. We do not publish delay times, temperature ranges or model numbers from forums, reviews or memory.
Who writes and reviews the pages?
Pages are published under the Sam Calloway byline, the pen name of the developer who runs the site. Before a page goes live, its facts are checked against the manufacturer documents it cites. Each page shows the date it was first published and the date it was last reviewed.
How is each page checked?
Every fact that reaches the page is checked against the cited manufacturer document, and figures we cannot confirm in an official source are left out or marked as not stated. Automated checks also stop any page from going live if it names a brand and a number without at least two sources, uses inconsistent terminology, or strays into repair topics.
What will this site never do?
- Give repair instructions, or tell you to open heating or cooling equipment.
- Publish a page that exists only to match a search phrase.
- Accept payment from a manufacturer for coverage or wording.
How do corrections work?
If you find a mistake, email contact@thermostatexplained.com with the page address and, if you have it, the manufacturer document that shows the right answer. We correct confirmed errors promptly and update the page's "Reviewed" date.
How is the site funded?
Display advertising. Advertisers have no say in what we write. Ads are clearly separated from the content.
